No — BIShare has no accounts at all. Install the app or open bishare.app and start sending and receiving immediately. Nothing to sign up for, no email, no profile.

Not necessarily. Anyone can open a share link or enter a share code in their browser to download files, and browser transfer lets any computer on your network exchange files with your device directly. The app makes everything faster and unlocks every feature, but it is never required on both ends.

It's free. Transfers over your own network have no size caps and no account, and remote share links and rooms are free too. No subscriptions, no paywalled features.

Between devices on the same network there is no size limit — a 40 GB project folder moves as easily as a photo. Remote shares that travel through a link are free up to 10 GB per file and delete themselves after 24 hours.

For nearby transfers, yes — both devices must be on the same network. A phone hotspot counts, so it works with no internet at all. On different networks, use a remote share instead: the file becomes a link, a QR code, and a six-character code that work anywhere.

Transfers are resumable. If the connection drops midway, the transfer picks up where it stopped instead of starting over — the pieces that already arrived are kept, and only the missing part is sent again. Browser uploads resume the same way.

As fast as your network allows. Nearby transfers travel directly from device to device with no server hop in between, so the only ceiling is your Wi-Fi itself.

Yes — create a room. Share its four-character code and up to 20 people can join, each able to drop files in and pull files out. Rooms on the same network work without internet; remote rooms work from anywhere.

Yes. Your devices agree on a secret using X25519 key exchange, and every file is sealed with AES-256-GCM using its own fresh key. The keys never leave your devices, so only the sender and the receiver can read what is transferred.

No. Nearby transfers never touch a server — they travel straight between your devices. Remote shares are encrypted in transit and at rest, are never scanned or opened, and are permanently deleted after 24 hours.

The file is permanently deleted from cloud storage, and the link, QR code, and share code all stop working. One-time links go further: they delete themselves right after the first download.

No tracking, no ads, and no selling of data. BIShare does not build advertising profiles or follow you around the internet.

First, confirm both devices are on the same network — that is the most common cause. Guest and public Wi-Fi networks often isolate devices from each other, and an active VPN can hide a device too. Also check your visibility setting: if discovery is set to favorites-only or off, new devices won't find you. When in doubt, a personal hotspot always works.

iOS strictly limits what apps can do in the background, so a large transfer can pause if BIShare leaves the foreground. Keep the app open — and the screen on — during big transfers. If a pause happens anyway, the transfer resumes where it left off when you return.

Remote shares expire after 24 hours, and one-time links stop working after their first download — an expired share can't be revived, so ask the sender to share again. For six-character codes, double-check the characters. For nearby transfers, the sending device must be online and on your network.
